ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. -- Robert Sean McDonald, 16, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in a car crash that killed a toddler in September. He was sentenced to serve time at a juvenile detention center, but the defense attorney does plan to appeal the sentence.

Robert crashed his car into a group of neighbors in the Belmont Estates. One of the victims was Kate Beagle, a toddler who died at the scene.

In the courtroom on Monday, some of the evidence included 911 calls and Virginia State Police officers took to the witness stand. They said the teen was very calm and had an abnormal reaction to the crash. They said Robert tried to help the bleeding baby, but he didn't cry. They also said, Robert didn't brake his car because there were no skid marks. Robert was listening to very loud music at the time.
