STAUNTON, Va --- High school and middle school students at the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind are being taught under the same roof and Thursday, the school held a dedication ceremony for the Yates-Shinpaugh Education Building.

The building is named in honor of Fred Yates, a former student and teacher, and Joseph Shinpaugh, a former superintendent.

The new building has larger hallways, new technology and hypo-allergenic floors. This is the first new building on campus since the 1960s.
