BRIDGEWATER -- Bridgewater College celebrated its Founder's Day on Tuesday. Bridgewater College was founded 133 years ago by Daniel Flory when he was 26-years-old. Hundreds of students and faculty attended the event at the Carter Center.
As a part of the celebration, three faculty were members honored for their achievements. The three professors who were honored were Holly Ratwani, Dr. Randall Young and Dr. Lori Gano-Overway.
The awards were given to spotlight faculty members who have gone above and beyond.
“Students are not the same as they were 10 years ago. It's ever changing. It's more an art form than it is a science and these are people that are constantly willing to go back to the potter's wheel, if you will, reshape, rethink, redirect,” said Vice President of Academic Affairs Carol Scheppard.
Bridgewater College has been a co-educational college for longer than any other college in Virginia.
