Virginia State Police has identified the victim of Monday night's crash as 26-year-old Katie Higgins of Stuarts Draft. According to a release by VSP, Higgins was wearing her seat belt.

Sergeant C.G Akins said Higgins crashed after running off the left side of the road on Interstate 64 near MM90.

VSP reports that Higgins over-corrected, traveled into the right lane then back into the left lane again. A Ford F-150 pick-up truck in the left lane hit the side of her car. A third vehicle, a Chevy Impala, was also traveling in the left lane and hit the back of the pick-up truck.

A reconstruction team will return to the scene of the crash later this week.
