A transformer fire sparks power outages in Augusta County and Staunton. Fire crews worked for hours to put it out. They are in the process of making sure the fire doesn't start again.
The fire caused power outages to thousands of customers. Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative customers were without power for a couple of hours. The power was restored by 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Dominion Virginia Power customers are still in the dark. The company tells News 3 it's working to switch to circuits to restore the power. The company hopes to have power back to its customers sometime Sunday evening.
