WEYERS CAVE -- Many travelers trying to leave the Valley experienced problems Tuesday night.

On Tuesday, Brian Foster was at the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport trying to get to his home in Bermuda.

“I've already had information that my Newark to Bermuda flight is canceled. I'm here today to try and figure out what to do about tomorrow.”

When Foster leaves the Valley, he doesn't plan on returning for several months. A minor delay is the least of his concerns.

“I don't mind canceling tomorrow and booking later on in the week. I just don't want to turn up here at 5 o'clock in the morning to be told there's no flight.”

Foster was confident that United Airlines would help him get home.

Other airline passengers started to get a little worried, not only about flight cancellations, but the complications that go along with them.

“We've had a lot of people actually call just to make sure that we're going to be open and to see if they were going to need to try to rebook somewhere else. We told them that we'd be here no matter what,” said Jackie Spradlin, a rental sale associate for Avis/Budget Rental Car.

United Airlines offered fee-free rebooking if customers decided to change their plans.
