Traveler More Concerned with Truck Drivers than Weather

SHENANDOAH VALLEY, Va. -- Holiday travel is up right now with Christmas just next week. This makes the traffic on the roads quite a bit heavier than usual.

Friday's high wind alert didn't help the matter either. Wind gusts reached almost 30 mph and were expected to get worse through the night.

Tom Curd, a holiday traveler, said he was more concerned with the amount of truck drivers on the road during this time.

“Got a lot of trucks on this road. You got to be careful. If they slow down, you have to slow down. Pay attention to them. Most of them are good drivers,” said Curd.

Curd said that he slows down at least 5 mph if the roads are heavy with traffic. He suggested putting more distance between you and the car in front of you to help prevent accidents. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
