WAYNESBORO, Va -- Employees with veterans services have expanded into the Valley and they are working at the Waynesboro Senior Center to sign up veterans. They hope to reach even more people who have benefits.
Employees said they have a lot of cases from Vietnam-era veterans. They want to make sure all veterans know about their eligibility.
“Martinsburg's got a clinic, in Harrisonburg. So, a lot of people don't even know that. We're doing outreach to get that word out to them and to get the benefits to them that they richly deserve,” said Veteran's Service Representative John Layman.
Department of Veterans Services employees stop by the senior center on the third Wednesday of every month.
