WAYNESBORO, Va. -- The Waynesboro Economic Development Authority launched what is called the Waynesboro WISE Program. Through this program, people can share their business idea and then they could get grant money to start up. The WISE program has three finalists, who must now submit a business plan.

Katie McElroy, Waynesboro's tourism director, said the new business could add to downtown.

“We want to add to that and get some new businesses in our vacant building,” said McElroy, “Hopefully, they'll add to the mix of that and will add something for the visitors to do and for the community to do downtown.”

The development authority is still accepting ideas for its newest business. For more information on how to submit your idea, click here: WISE application
