Waynesboro Police Make Arrest in Lottery Ticket Theft

WAYNESBORO-- Police arrested a man in connection with a burglary at the Royal Mart on E Broad St.

Douglas Leon Leftwich II, 24 of Waynesboro, turned himself into police on Friday morning.

Police said he stole scratch off lottery tickets from the store on Sept. 6. He now faces a felony charge of breaking & entering, along with two misdemeanors, petit larceny and destruction of private property.

A store manager said he stole about $300 of the tickets. He is now out on bond, and due in court later in the month.
