Woman Warns of Potential Scam

TIMBERVILLE, Va. (WHSV) -- Alice Lindamood said she got a call Wednesday from a scam artist. He said she'd be getting an $8,000 grant and wanted her bank account information, but she wasn't falling for it.

"It aggravates me because people are trying to take advantage of people and take their money. People who are having a hard time making ends meet and causing hardships on families that really need the money," said Lindamood.

Remember if it's too good to be true, than it probably is.

As a reminder, never give your personal information to anyone over the phone.
