Dr. Pence is board certified in Allergy and Clinical Immunology and in Pediatrics. He received his BA and MD degrees from the University of Virginia. He completed a residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. After an additional 4 years as Chief of Allergy and Immunology at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Dr. Pence opened his practice, Allergy and Asthma Associates of Virginia, PC in June of 2000. He is an Adjunct Professor in James Madison University's Department of Health Sciences. He has been an active member of the Rockingham Memorial Hospital Staff since returning home to the Harrisonburg Area in 2000. Areas of interest include treating allergies, asthma and allergic reactions. Dr. Pence and his staff treat patients with a variety of options, including avoidance of allergens, medication, and immunotherapy (allergy injections).
