The Success By 6 Coalition of the Shenandoah Valley is very fortunate to work with so many individuals and organizations in our area that support early readiness for children. To recognize the work of these individuals and organizations, four annual awards have been established to honor those who have made an indelible mark on ensuring that all children, 0-6, are healthy, well-cared for, and ready to succeed in school in the Shenandoah Valley. The awards are as follows:
Early Childhood Corporate Champion Award
This award is given to a corporation or organization which operates outside the early childhood field, and has gone above and beyond the “call of duty” in advocating for, investing in, or otherwise supporting young children and their families.
Early Childhood Local Champion Award
This award is given to a locally owned business/franchise that operates outside the early childhood field, and has gone beyond the “call of duty” in advocating for, investing in, or otherwise supporting young children and their families.
Early Childhood Volunteer Award
This award recognizes an ‘ordinary’ individual doing extraordinary things for young children in Shenandoah Valley through volunteering – they ‘do’ because they can, not because they ‘have to.’
Lifetime Achievement Award
The individual nominated for this award is a childcare provider or teacher who, through his/her work in the early childhood field, has a record of consistent achievement over time and has significantly contributed to and supported quality early care and education in the Shenandoah Valley.
