A Waynesboro school got a big check Wednesday morning. A $1,000 check was awarded by Project 3 to Westwood Hills Elementary School.
Augusta Petroleum Cooperative is the business that made the donation and chose the winner.
The money will go to a kindergarten project.
Shannon Jakeman, Waynesboro Public Schools, says, "We're going to use the $1,000 to purchase iPods and docking stations for five kindergarten classrooms. The iPods will be used for the students to record stories to increase reading comprehension and fluency."
