A principal at a Franklin, West Virginia school got a big surprise Tuesday morning.
Franklin Elementary School was awarded a $1,000 grant for a project to protect kids on the playground.
Principal Rick Linaburg comments, "Course, I was at a meeting this morning, came walking in and here was an assembly and, so I was in total shock but it's a good surprise. The money is going to be used for fencing around our playground. We have problems with balls going out across our street here, so for safety for our students, that's what it will be used for."
Valley Volkswagen, Valley Honda made the donation and chose the winner.
The grant came from Project 3, a partnership involving WHSV TV3, local businesses and area schools.
