Local School Wins Project 3 Grant

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- Peak View Elementary School received a $1,000 grant Monday morning.

The grant was from Project 3, which is a partnership involving WHSV, local businesses and area schools.

Bob Wade Autoworld in Harrisonburg made the donation and chose the winner.

"Our plan is to buy bikes to introduce a bike smart program. We're trying to get the bikes in the school because in reality not every kid has them at home, so we're able to do it here and then we can teach them the bike safety and the health benefits of bikes," said Sarah Peters, a physical education teacher.
