One-thousand dollars was awarded this morning (10/7/10) to a project at Fort Defiance High School.
The grant came from "Project 3," a partnership involving TV-3, local businesses, and area schools. "LD and B Insurance" made the donation, and chose the winner. Special education teacher Kim Salyer submitted the grant proposal.
"It's going to be used for students with special needs, to help create their own individualized education plans every year and lead their own meetings. So we'll have a projector that everybody can see what they're doing and what they're planning, and let them be more independent that way," says Salver.
