Lana's Vegan Meatballs

Ingredients


MEATBALLS





  • 1 pkg. Morningstar Grillers crumbles

  • 18 oz. firm Tofu (water packed) drained and mashed

  • 2 cups walnuts (chopped fine)

  • 1 1/2 cups plain breadcrumbs (dried)

  • 1 sm. onion (finely chopped)

  • 1/4 cup oil

  • 1/4 cup yeast flakes

  • 1 Tbsp. Liquid Aminos

  • 2 tsp McKay beef seasoning

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp poultry seasoning

  • 1/4 tsp Hickory smoked salt

  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste

  • 1/4 cup gluten flour




SAUCE



  • 1/2 cup soy margerine

  • 1 onion chopped

  • 1 cup ketchup

  • 1-2 tsp chili powder

  • 2-4 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp liquid smoke

  • salt to taste


Directions

MEATBALLS



  1. Mix together well.

  2. Form into small meatballs.

  3. Place on oiled cookie sheet.

  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes, or until crispy.


SAUCE



  1. Saute onion in soy margerine.

  2. Add remaining ingredients, simmer 10-15 minutes.

  3. Add water to thin as needed.

  4. Place baked meatballs in single layer in casserole dish.

  5. Cover with sauce and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
