Connect With Me:

Favorite music:
I enjoy everything from new and old country to hip hop music

Favorite dance style:
Although I have no ability to do it….I love break dancing.

Where are you from? Where did you go to college?
I am originally from Spotsylvania, VA. I came to college here at James Madison University. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a concentration in Public Health. While here in college I fell in love with the valley and decided to stay after graduation. Shortly thereafter I met my wife Melanie and we now have a three year old son, Ashby.

Occupation and other community service you are involved in:
I have been with James McHone Jewelry for the past 11 years. We buy and sell estate and antique jewelry, diamonds, gold and silver. In addition to jewelry, I am also involved in real estate development and management.
Outside of the office I am the chairman of the board of People Helping People a faith based organization that helps individuals and families in crisis situations. I am currently on the advisory committee for the Plan Our Park. I have served as the president of Merchants of Historic Downtown Harrisonburg, on the Board of Directors of the Denton Foundation, and on various Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance committees. My family and I are members at Saint Stephens United Church of Christ.

Fun facts about you:
I love sports….I grew up playing soccer and swimming, while at JMU I played on the collegiate rugby team, and now I play in the Shenandoah Valley Adult Soccer League. I also collect vintage watches and historic memorabilia of Harrisonburg. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.

Why did you decide to participate in DWTS?
The kids! Being a parent myself I understand how important it is to have a safe and encouraging place for children to be while their parents are working. By participating I am active part in raising funds so that the Harrisonburg Rockingham Child Day Care Center can continue to succeed and grow.

I love to dance because….
Aside from being a great exercise, dancing allows you to express the emotions you feel as you listen to music.

If there was one thing that we could focus on about you as we promote DWTS, what would that one thing be?

Anything else you want us to know…
I am not a strong dancer, but I am excited to learn, practice and be a part of a great show in November.
