I was born in a small town called Gowanda, NY, about 30 minutes south of Buffalo, NY. My family moved to Harrisonburg from Rochester, NY my sophomore year in high school. I graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 1984 and then attended JMU, where I earned a BBA in Computer Information Systems in 1993.
Occupation and other community service you are involved in: I am a Systems Analyst in the Information Systems department at JMU.
I am director of Victory Worship Center's Church computer software system, Fellowship One. I am the Quartermaster of the Myers-Hodges VFW Post #8644 in Bridgewater, VA. The VFW not only provides services for Veterans and their families, but also provides support of various community groups, such as the Boy and Girl Scouts, and sponsors groups such as local flag football teams.
Fun facts about you: I served in the Marine Corps from 1988 – 1993 and am a Desert Storm Veteran.
I was a Marching Royal Duke my freshmen year at JMU.
I enjoy gardening, hunting and being in the woods.
I really enjoy weightlifting and working out.
I assist Karen Thomas and Jane Kennedy in teaching the beginner Argentine Tango class on Monday evenings at the Dancing With Karen studio.
Why did you decide to participate in DWTS?To help out a good cause and for the fun of it!
I love to dance because…. I see the enjoyment dancing brings to my wife, Ruth. Dancing is great exercise and a perfect way to meet many wonderful people too!
