Republican Sam Brownback says he will end his presidential bid if he finishes lower than fourth place in the Iowa caucuses.
The Kansas senator made the comments in a live Internet discussion on washingtonpost.com. He responded to a questioner asking if Brownback planned to drop out of the race if he didn't make the top four. Brownback answered affirmatively, saying he needs to finish in that group to move forward.
A poll conducted for The Des Moines Register this month suggests Brownback is in seventh place, drawing support from just two percent of Republicans surveyed.
The poll found Mitt Romney is leading the race with 29 percent, followed by Fred Thompson and Mike Huckabee. The poll puts Rudy Giuliani in fourth place with 11 percent.
