A dozen presidential candidates, six Democrats and six Republicans, met the state's deadline for submitting petitions to qualify for Virginia's February 12 primaries.
Republican Ron Paul's volunteers submitted the most signatures at more than 21,000.
Virginia's primaries fall one week after the Super Tuesday primaries, which are likely to seal the nominations for both parties.
Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Ron Paul are topping the February 12 presidential primary ballot in Virginia.
The State Board of Elections on Thursday selected the order in which the names will appear on the ballots for the statewide primary. The names were drawn from sealed envelopes in a bowl.
Obama is followed on the Democratic ballot by Dennis Kucinich, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Bill Richardson, Joe Biden and John Edwards.
Paul is followed on the Republican ballot by John McCain, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney.
