A mock straw poll, or practice vote, to determine who students believe should be the Republican and Democratic candidates for the presidency took place at Bridgewater College Tuesday.
Barack Obama won with 87 percent of the vote, compared to Hillary Clinton's 13 percent.
Meanwhile, John McCain carried 37 percent to win Tuesday's student poll over Mike Huckabee's 35 percent.
The poll was sponsored by the Bridgewater College Republicans. Their chairman, Torrey Williams, said the poll received a good response from students.
"We've been here for one day, probably till about three hours for lunch and dinner," says Williams. "We've had about 200 people come out. On a small campus, I consider that a success."
Williams said his goal was to get students excited to vote for the real election in November.
