Traffic Snarls Expected for Obama Visit

Harrisonburg and James Madison University officials are warning residents that traffic will be an issue in several parts of the city on Tuesday, due to a visit from Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama to JMU's Convocation Center.

They say to expect delays on Port Republic Road, Reservoir Street, and University Boulevard. Backups could also be experienced at exits 245 and 247 on Interstate 81.

Parking for the event will take place at the Convocation Center itself on a first come, first serve basis starting at 1 p.m.

The parking lots at K-Mart and Regal Cinemas will be used as additional parking.
