Virginia election officials are reporting a few setbacks in the primary with turnout going about as expected.

Morning storms caused four polling locations in Fairfax County and Arlington to temporarily lose power Tuesday, but officials say voting equipment wasn't affected. A polling place in Prince William County opened in a parking lot until that precinct building was unlocked.

Two Virginia Beach precincts were locked down for less than an hour after a shooting was reported in the area around 1:30 p.m.

Most of the state was experiencing turnouts of between three percent and five percent. In northern Virginia turnout approached ten percent while some southwest Virginia localities reported less than one percent turnout.

The highest numbers were about ten percent in Arlington precincts where they have a House of Delegates race.

The polls close at 7 p.m.
