AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va -- Some Valley Democrats said they were honored to have Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, his running mate, in Fishersville on Thursday night.
These Democrats also said they are not too worried about the visit having much of an impact on voters. A few Democrats in Staunton said Romney's "top down approach" to the economy is one that has been tried already. They said people will realize it did not work then and President Obama supporters think it will not work now.
For one Democrat, the best choice for America's next president is clear.
"These are real facts. These are incontrovertible. This is a working president who has worked for every single American," said Bruce Elder, a Staunton City Council member.
Some Democrats said they would love it if the president stopped in the Valley. They think it would be a good idea to rally support from the other side.
