ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va -- Things are coming together ahead of GOP Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan's visit to Rockingham County. The congressman will hold a campaign rally at the Rockingham County fairgrounds and the sheriff's office said they are anticipating 3,000 to 5,000 people.

Work crews hustled to put everything together for Ryan's visit, from the stage to the banners and everything in between.

It is a race against the clock to get everything ready for Friday's Paul Ryan campaign rally. State police, the Secret Service and fairgrounds staff talked security ahead of the visit.

Paul Ryan's speech will focus on agriculture, something to which the people of Rockingham County have a personal connection, and many of those people are ready to listen.

As fairgrounds workers prepared, the people of Rockingham County were ready. Signs were already up to show support for the Romney/Ryan ticket on Thursday afternoon.

One supporter is John Lisky, a farmer, and he described just how excited he was for the rally.

"I think it's a great thing. We're a rural community. We're very conservative. We get overlooked a lot," said Lisky.

Lisky heard about the rally Wednesday morning.

"I found where you can go online and get tickets and I got tickets for my wife, myself, my buddy from out of town. Called last night and I said get some tickets."

Lisky will not have far to go to get to the rally because his farm is next door to the fairgrounds.

It is at the fairgrounds where the work will continue until the final minute. The stage is set and the American flag is ready to be draped.

For Lisky, he said he is making time for this rally.

"But our vote is important. I encourage everyone, who's registered, to vote. If you're not registered you still have time to register and vote this year."

Lisky said he plans to finish his farm chores in the morning and then he will spend the afternoon at the fairgrounds, to hear Paul Ryan speak.
