STAUNTON (WHSV) On Friday it was just more than a week away from the first debate between the two candidates for Virginia's next governor.

Ken Cuccinelli, the Republican candidate, was in the Valley on Friday afternoon for a tour of Shenandoah Spring Water. The stop was part of Cuccinelli's jobs tour.

Bill Saxman, the founder of the company, talked to Cuccinelli about how the Affordable Care Act is keeping him from hiring more workers.

Cuccinelli was also confronted by questions about the growing scandal involving Gov. Bob McDonnell, the current governor. Cuccinelli said he's disappointed.

"What's going on with the governor is very much personal to him. It's disappointing to us all to see. I'm no exception for that. There are two investigations running right now. One of them began with my referral. So as the sitting attorney general I think it's appropriate that I be pretty reserved in my comments. So I'll just leave it at that," said Cuccinelli.

Cuccinelli said the people of Virginia demand transparency now more than ever.
