Tuesday was the deadline for potential Republican nominees to file for Harrisonburg City Council and so far three potential nominees have filed.
Anthony Bailey, Rodney Eagle and Cristine Johnson are the three that have filed. Anthony Bailey is a Harrisonburg Assistant Commonwealth Attorney. Rodney Eagle is a former Harrisonburg mayor. Cristine Johnson owns the University Outpost Bookstore.
“We're looking for good, honest, hardworking people in our nominees,” said Harrisonburg Republican Committee Chairman Tracy Evans. “We think we found excellent people that are going to run really strong races here.”
The Harrisonburg Republican Committee will meet Thursday to officially nominate its candidates.
