Republican Lieutenant Governor Candidates Talk to Voters

HARRISONBURG -- Some of the Republican candidates for Virignia's lieutenant governor met with voters Friday afternoon. They held a roundtable discussion at the Wood Grill Buffet.

Five of the seven republican candidates attended the discussion. They spoke on several topics ranging from religious liberty to education reform.

Many of the people listening were Virginia Republican Convention delegates. They will be voting on their favorite candidate at the convention in a week.

One of the topics that was important to the candidates was the Virginia budget.

"I would also like to get a hold of the Virginia budget. The budget's been growing so fast. Sixty six percent over 10 years and there's still not enough money left over for the core priorities of government. That's one of the things I'd like to do is budgetary reform in the Commonwealth," said Republican Lt. Gov. Candidate Corey Stewart.
