RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Democrat Terry McAuliffe is continuing statewide tour with his party's luminaries in an official launch of a Virginia governor's race he entered almost six months ago.

McAuliffe began his campaign jumpstart with a Norfolk rally Sunday, the same day a Washington Post poll showed him trailing Republican rival, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, 46 percent to 41 percent.

He started the second day of his five-day re-start swing with Sen. Tim Kaine at a Richmond biotechnology research center, followed by events later Monday in Charlottesville and Harrisonburg.

McAuliffe pledged to put job-training and job-development efforts forefront if elected. He made no mention of an electric-car company he established last year in northern Mississippi.

He has events scheduled in Roanoke and Danville on Tuesday, Bristol on Wednesday and Arlington on Thursday.
