One-Term VA Legislator Will Not Seek Reelection

Virginia Del. William Cleveland says he doesn't plan to run for reelection.

The Botetourt Republican said Monday in a release that he's stepping down after one term in the General Assembly.

Cleaveland won election in 2009 to fill the seat previously held by William Fralin for six years.

He sponsored legislation to allow Roanoke to start its school year before Labor Day. The bill allows school divisions to open before the September holiday if they're surrounded by districts that already do so.
