LEXINGTON, Va -- Some veterans who support President Barack Obama headed to the Virginia Military Institute Monday afternoon right after Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney's visit. They say the U.S. does not need any changes to our foreign policy.
Veteran Terron Sims II said the president has a strong background in foreign policy. Pulling our troops out of Iraq to give that nation freedom is what he said proves the president's strength.
He also said our current government killed Osama bin Laden and dismantled Al Qaeda.
Sims said Romney's proposal of adding more money to the defense budget shows how naive his team is when it comes to defense and foreign policy. He said Romney is using these issues to get more support.
"It's evident that, you know, Mitt Romney doesn't have a national security stance and he's merely using these issues to serve as means of getting votes and nothing more," said Sims.
Romney's team planned to hold a campaign rally in Newport News around 5:30 p.m.
