Wednesday's presidential debate has come and gone, but did it have an effect on voters?

People in the Valley say yes and no.

One first time voter says it's the first time he'll vote and the first time he watched the debate.

“Everything these men are saying, they do affect our country and what the future four years hold for us,” said Beau Lafon, a senior at R.E. Lee High School.

Some say Mitt Romney's performance surprised them.

“Mitt Romney did a lot better than I thought he would, but it still doesn't change my opinion about it,” said James Cathey.

Others say President Obama let them down.

Lafon says he weighed the pros and cons of each candidate before he made up his mind.

“I would say, I'm 100% Obama,” said Lafon.

He says his vote will stay the same despite Obama's performance during the debate.

Other people say they plan to vote, but the debate didn't make a big difference for their support for Romney.

More than 60 million people tuned into the debate.
