Romney beat out five other Republican candidates on Tuesday, although most already have dropped out of the race.
West Virginia GOP primary voters also chose 28 of the state's 31 delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa.
Nineteen were elected statewide. Another three were selected in each of the three congressional districts. The remaining three are superdelegates who can support whomever they wish.
Romney goes into the November election with the most organized operation within West Virginia, with a large steering committee and dozens of endorsements.
