Three contested races in Page County brought out scores of people to the VFW in Luray.

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday, more than 1,200 people had already voted.

One of the downsides poll workers say is having to count the number of paper ballots submitted, and double check to see if anyone submitted any write-ins.

"We've been busy all day today. It's been a steady flow of people and this is just precinct two," said Doril Talley, a volunteer

Talley says voters didn't ask that many questions and seemed to get in and out fairly quickly.
