Tito "the Builder" Munoz, who gained a measure of fame in the 2008 presidential campaign, is considering his own run for office.
Munoz is a native of Colombia who became a U.S. citizen in 2008. He owns a construction company in Woodbridge and identifies himself as a tea party activist.
Munoz became a GOP favorite in the 2008 campaign as a successor of sorts to Joe the Plumber. Sarah Palin highlighted Tito at several campaign rallies, with Munoz appearing in his hardhat.
Munoz told reporters Thursday that he's exploring a run for the Virginia General Assembly. Munoz says any run for either the House of Delegates or Senate might depend in part on how the state draws its redistricting lines.
In the meantime, he's formed a political action committee, TitoPAC.
