Va. Tech, WDBJ Host Governor Debate on Oct. 24

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Tech and WDBJ-TV will host a debate between Virginia's Republican and Democratic candidates for governor next week.

The one-hour debate between Republican Ken Cuccinelli and Democrat Terry McAuliffe is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 24 in the Haymarket Theatre at Squires Student Center on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg.

WDBJ will broadcast the debate live. Virginia Tech says the debate also will be broadcast for the university community on campus cable channel 7.

WDBJ news anchor Jean Jadhon will serve as the moderator.

Beginning Oct. 22 at noon, a limited number of free tickets will be made available to the public and to the university community.
