ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va -- Rockingham County's Voter Registrar Doug Geib said many third party groups try to get as many people to register to vote as possible before an election. Right now, he said nothing illegal is happening.

A group, called the Voter Participation Center, is targeting Democrat leaning voters.

The Virginia Board of Elections received about 100 complaints. Many people have gotten letters addressed to their deceased relatives, children or even pets. All of that has caused some confusion.

People who do fill out forms for deceased relatives, children or pets would be committing voter fraud, which in this case would be easy to discover, Geib warned.

He said the best thing to do is to throw those applications away.
