Although the Virginia Cavaliers didn't pull off a big win Tuesday, they still had a few fans cheering them on in the Valley.
Kristie McDonald has been a UVa fan since she was a little girl and when the Hoo's played on New Year's Day in the Gator Bowl, she says she just couldn't sit at home and watch the game.
"We thought it was going to be boring and so we just wanted to come out and hang out," says McDonald.
So McDonald, alongside friends and family, watched the close game at Ham's in Harrisonburg.
Restaurant manager Tim O'Neill says it all comes down to enjoying the environment.
He says, "We've got individual speakers for the tables but I think our most outstanding attribute is our staff. We have tremendous food servers and excellent food."
Clad in orange and blue, the fans may not have walked away with a win, but they were able to enjoy an afternoon just hanging out.
"We just wanted to have fun and get together with friends after the new year and just watch the game at Ham's," adds McDonald.
