The Massanutten Regional Library is launching another "Big Read" event, and it wants your help to choose the book.
"To Kill a Mockingbird" was the book chosen for 2007. The choices for 2008 include "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," "Fahrenheit 451," and "The Great Gatsby."
The library is applying for a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to give thousands of copies of the highest voted book to the public for free.
"Our administration felt that these books were really relevant today," says library official Mary Golden-Hughes. "Historically, they're great novels. They have excellent themes which apply to today's society, and they can be read by a wide variety of ages, cultures, and even in different languages. They're available in print in many different languages, which is important here in the Valley."
You can vote at any of the library's branches through January 10.
