Choir students at one Valley high school will soon take a trip of a lifetime.
Fifty-five members of the Waynesboro High School Choir have accepted an invitation from Mid-America Music to perform at the world renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City this April.
The group will be working with a nationally ranked conductor and performing with a mass choir orchestra.
Members of the choir say they were pleasantly surprised to be invited and are excited about the opportunity.
Greg Manor says, "At first I was nervous. Well it's Carnegie Hall and we're going to be singing with all these college choirs and everything. I mean we're only a high school choir. When we first said we were going to apply for it, I didn't think we'd get accepted and then we did."
Several fundraisers are being held to cover the cost of the trip. The next one is a second chance prom this Saturday at Fairfax Hall at 8 p.m. You must be 21 to attend.
