After two years, tourists finally have a guidebook for the 136-mile driving route known as the Washington Heritage Trail.

The 72-page guide includes a fold-out map, photos and descriptions of 48 historical West Virginia sites relating to the Washington family. They include the George Washington bath tub in Berkeley Springs.

The book is available at locations throughout the Eastern Panhandle, including visitors' centers in Berkeley, Morgan and Jefferson counties.

It also has essays about the three counties and five 18th century towns on the trail.

Some lesser known sites include Spruce Pine Hollow Park in Morgan County, the Shenandoah Canal in Harpers Ferry and Mount Zion Episcopal Church in Hedgesville.
