It's apple blossom time in Winchester and people are celebrating all week long as part of the 81st annual Apple Blossom Festival.

On Thursday, contestants gathered bright and early to test their skill at baking the best apple pie in the Valley.

The competitors had an hour to create their masterpiece and another hour to allow for baking.

The winner was Ellen Keri of Delaplane, Virgina. The winner of the kids division was Jessica Smith of Winchester.
