Planes flew over Fishersville on Thursday to create a movie scene. Capital Media Enterprise was at Augusta Expoland to film scenes for its G-rated family film, "Scramble."
The film's plot revolves around students competing with model, radio-controlled airplanes rather than in traditional sports.
Cast and crew members say the majority of scenes have been filmed in the local area and they hope it will draw other filmmakers to the valley.
"There's so many artists in Staunton," says one crew member. "There's so much potential in the area. We're really hoping that as soon as this is released, film people in Virginia will see that Staunton and Augusta County are the places to come to do films."
Filming began in 2006 and the movie should be out on DVD soon.
