Waynesboro is gearing up for a big weekend. The city is hosting its X-treme fest.
Activities include a muscle car show downtown, public works day to celebrate public works employees, and events at Ridgeview Park including kayaking on the south river and a BMX stunt show.
The city is encouraging residents to participate.
The director of tourism, Lianne Crookshanks, says, "We want people to move through the city on Saturday. We have things starting at nine in the morning and going until well, the end of the movie on Saturday night. So, we want people to realize that you can move from public works and then come into downtown and then come out to the park."
Crookshanks believes about 7,000 people will turn out the festivities.
