The Staunton Parks and Recreation Department announces the 4th Annual Awakening Common-Unity event.
This year the event took on the appropo title "The Great Awakening of 2011" as many of the prophecies and philosophies that have guided the group began to take shape.
The event is on Saturday, Sept. 24, which has special significance as it relates to the Mayan Calendar, the Fall Equinox, Hopi Prophecy of the Blue and Red Star Kachinas as well as several other spiritual traditions.
This is an open invitation to join the group at 11am for a Fire Circle Ceremony at the Bandstand in Gypsy Hill Park.
Event organizers will provide opportunities to acknowledge and celebrate the profound shift in human consciousness that is emerging across the globe.
All are invited who support the vision of common unity to share their gifts, including vendors, speakers and performers. Those interested in participating in the ceremony will need to be prompt for the 11am start.
The Fire Ceremony will feature the Native American flute, drumming, crystal bowls, an overview from several spiritual philosophies, guided meditation and personal and group intention setting.
The post fire circle fun (noon - 2pm) includes fellowship, music-making, healing vendors and food concessions provided by Ubon Thai of Staunton.
