Actor Richard Dreyfuss plans to speak about civics education at the University of Virginia.

Dreyfuss plans to discuss the importance of teaching civics in nation's schools at the Miller Center of Public Affairs Monday.

The actor has appeared in dozens of films, including "Jaws," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "Mr. Holland's Opus."

Dreyfuss also will review portions of his movies Monday afternoon at the Mary and David Harrison Institute/Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library, then answer audience questions.
