State Fair Not Moving Yet

The president of the State Fair of Virginia says the fair's new site in Caroline County won't be ready by next year.

Curry Roberts says he expects financing for "The Meadow" should be finalized in November and ground broken in December. He told WFVA Monday it will take 14 months to build the exhibit hall.

Roberts says he hopes to have "The Meadow" ready for the fair in 2009. That means it will remain at the State Fairgrounds at the Richmond Raceway Complex this year and next.

This year's State Fair of Virginia opens in ten days.
