Its owners say the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races is already benefiting from table games that opened earlier this month.
In a filing with federal regulators Thursday, parent company Penn National Gaming Inc. said the renovated property immediately saw a boost in both the number of visitors and revenues.
That may bode well for Penn National's third-quarter earnings results.
The company's second quarter profit fell from $28.5 million last year to $9.2 million for the period ending June 30.
The filing shows net revenue at Charles Town was $112.4 million, down from $121.4 million in the same period last year.
The company also says it's spent about $13 million of a planned $40 million on renovations, expansions and hiring at Charles Town.
